Emanuel Almborg's short film takes a starting point in two events and two kinds of representation of New York's South Bronx in the early 1980s: the horror film Wolfen about killer wolves living in the ruins of the derelict neighborhood and a video taped People's Convention that brought together a large coalition of different grassroots organizations and community activists. The horror film was shot in the exact location around Charlotte Street where six months later the protest against inadequate social and economic policies of both the Democratic and Republican parties commenced. On Charlotte Street, prefabricated single family houses were built in 1985, which became a symbol for the promotion of home ownership in poor areas as a motor of neoliberal urban renewal.
