Burn Station is a mobile copying station of free distribution of music and audio. It is both, software and a local network. Above all it's a social event that brings together people around listening, selecting and copying net label and net radio audio files with a copyleft licence. Packed up in a van, it travels through suburban spaces. Burn Station is an open source and non-commercial project involving new means of free networked distribution. It is based on the Burn Station Software, developed by Plato- r niq and Rama with the support of the f30kms foundation, which is 100% license-free software. With "bringing netculture to the streets" as its main slogan, Burn Station I is both a practical and an investigative project involving new voices, media and practices in a discourse about the use of public space and processes for public engagement. Burn Station aims to establish links between media space and the physical space of the city.
