Excitement and relaxation are both sensations which accompany this travel video. It is a drama-documentary about Japan: about the meeting - not the clash - between the cultures of east and west; it is about time, space and travelling. Kiko presents episodes taken from "Records of a Travel-worn Satchel“, a travelogue by Japanese Haiku poet Basho. The episodes are interlaced with a dialogue where two characters - the western traveller and the eastern philosopher - address questions of cultural difference. The result is a series of reflections, a thematic web that creates links between eastern and western approaches.
