The visitor enters a darkened room of indeterminate size and diffusely hazy atmosphere. Discernible in the centre are four surfaces of light, stretching from ceiling to floor and constantly moving towards each other then retreating. Their vertical edges collide with each other, and bright, apparently hovering strips of light define their borders on the floor. They form a virtual space which moves through the tangible room. In her installation, the artist uses different physical phenomena to illustrate abstract, immaterial substance: light is staged through being refracted and dispersed in fog, movement is documented by the reflection of light in the room. The symbiosis of these impetuses ultimately creates a new spatial structure, and the very transience and insubstantiality of the installation singularly sensitizes the visitor to time- and perception-based processes.
