In the past, ore mining brought jobs to the Styrian community of Vordernberg. Today, hope for a better economic future rests on a detention center for asylum seekers. In Juri Schaden’s film, the architectural designs for the EU model project are superimposed with designs for a society that highly value freedom and security—and inevitably collide with the perspective of migrants waiting for their deportation.
