For the first time, the VideoFest publishes a comprehensive catalogue that not only accompanies extensively the multi-faceted programme but that sets new accents itself:

• Encompassing descriptions of the tapes in the programme, presentation of institutions and groups that introduce their work.
• Information on the video installations and the artists.
• An article on the history of video in the USA and a statement by Jean-Louis Le Tacon, this year's artist in residence, on his work and the search for new means of expression.
• Those who wish to contact festivals and distributions will find all important institutions listed in this catalogue. Addresses will be up-dated annually.
• Who has not experienced the exhausting search for programmes in festival catalogues? For the first time, we have attributed to all sections of the VideoFest - Akzente, Information Programme, Main Programme, Nightflight - a logo or symbol, listed on the right. Prospects are good for becoming an almanach of video culture.

This is the beginning. Lots of fun with this new catalogue!
